(OTC:SLBG) has announced its acquisition of Foundation Tennis, described in the press release as “a pioneer in tennis software applications covering tennis club and facility administration and encompassing highly functional user and CRM experiences.” Mike Ballardie, CEO of Slinger, said:

Gaming Community Network (GCN), part of a group of companies from GameSquare Esports Inc. (CSE:GSQ), has announced an alliance with Black Fire Innovation, which is itself a collaboration between the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Office of Economic Development and Caesars Entertainment, Inc. This will see GCN tasked with “producing collegiate esports tournaments, hosting and coaching content creators, and developing curriculum as part of a master class series for students to gain real-world insights within the gaming and esports industry.” Drew Brunson, GCN’s Vice President of Partnerships and Activations, commented:

“The collaboration between Black Fire Innovation and GCN is expected to further esports innovation to create more opportunities and collaboration in the broader video gaming industry.”

Montreal Canadiens Face 2020 Champs in Stanley Cup Final, and Geraint Thomas Crashes in Stage 3 of Tour de France

The Montreal Canadiens square off against the 2020 Stanley Cup champions, the Tampa Bay Lightning, tonight with the latter having the home ice advantage. The Canadiens have not won a Stanley Cup final since 1993, which is also the last time any team from Canada has won. Though it's been so long, Montreal has won more Stanley Cups than any other franchise in the NHL, considerably more than the runner-up Toronto Maple Leafs, who have 13. In fact, the Canadiens, until 1999, had the most championships by any team of the four major North American sports leagues (MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL).

The Associated Press reports that Welsh cyclist Geraint Thomas crashed in Stage 3 of the Tour de France. Thomas, who had become the first Welsh cyclist to win the Tour in 2018, reportedly suffered a dislocated shoulder, but managed to recover and finish another 3,000 kilometers to the finish line in Paris. Belgian Tim Merlier, winner of the 2019 Belgian National Road Race Championships, went on to win the Tour’s third stage.
