The Slippers team will be
tasting and reviewing four wines from BC. Wines being tasted: Priest Creek
Family Estate Winery 2019 Decota, Black Hills Estate Winery 2018 Rose., 50th
Parallel Estate 2016 Pinot Noir ,Cedar Creek Estate Winery 2016 Meritage.
The theme is all about
estate wineries; an estate-bottled wine is made entirely from grapes owned by
the winery, and the wine is made entirely on the winery's property-it doesn't
ever leave the property during fermentation, aging, or bottling.
The Winos in Slippers
(that's all you get to see), Original Sip, Sneaky Sip (now drinking as Snooty
Sip), Gewürztraminer the Wiener Dog and special guest Simple Sip will give you
their tasting notes on these wines and hopefully be joined virtually by a few
other wine fans as the night goes on. So, get your slippers on and break open a
bottle of white and join them! Cheers!
The Winos rate the wines
based on "Slippers Up," so a great wine gets 2 Slippers Up from each
Wino and sometimes a "Slipper Toss" if it's really great!

Notes: Pale copper in colour, the 2018 Rose shows fresh watermelon, strawberry
and peach aromas. Layered on top of the fruit aromas are subtle creamy and
vanilla notes, developed during the wine's maturation on its yeast lees. There
is a hint of rhubarb on the palate, and a savoury herbal note adds another
dimension. This medium-bodied rose has a silky texture and crisp juicy acidity,
and peach flavours continue throughout the finish. This wine is best served
chilled and in its youth.

Noir 2016- Savoury aromas of dried sage and rosemary. Smoked meats, sandalwood,
wild rose and a touch of pepper present themselves as the wine develops in the
glass. Flavours of blueberry, ripe black cherry, vanilla, candied orange zest,
black tea, lavender, licorice, cacao and white truffle. Integrated tannic
structure gives the wine traction but it is not overbearing and presents a
silky finish.

brings bright red fruit and leafy notes, Cabernet Sauvignon adds dark fruit,
earth and structure and the Merlot wraps everything up in a smooth dark plum
generosity.
